On March 30, 2021, the 3rd virtual conference took place under the motto “Digitization in Communities – Smart City regionally, nationally and internationally”. In addition to the development and implementation of digital pilot projects, the focus here was on the continuous exchange with communities in North Rhine-Westphalia.
The first focus of the event was on a national and international panel, which discussed the current status and opportunities for advancing the smart city in Germany. The event was then divided into specialist forums, known as “Smart City Forums”. Among other things, they dealt with the topics of health, mobility, research, e-government and impulses from accompanying research. In addition to various digitization projects from North Rhine-Westphalia, the INSPIRE research project was presented in the “Health” Smart City Forum. Here, the focus was on the aspect of transferability as well as the pilot operation.
An outlook on the planned new Smart City activities in Germany as well as a concluding virtual exchange in a “network corner” and a virtual exhibition concluded the conference.
